Posthumous Chavuel award for Heath Ledger

Australian government of Queensland State announced that actor Heath Ledger will be posthumous rewarded with Chavuel award for its contribution to Australian film industry. Chavuel award got its name after Australian film maker Charles Chavuel who was born in Warwick town in Queensland. Charles was nephew of General Henry Chavuel, commander of Australian Light cavalry and Desert cavalry regiment in Palestine during First World War.

Producer and director Charles Chavuel made his first films “Moth of Moonbi” and “Green Hide« in Harrisville, which is also placed in Queensland State. Since 1992 Brisbane international film festival also confers Chavuel award for special contribution to Australian film industry.

28-year old Australian-Hollywood star, Heath Ledger, was born in Perth and died tragically this year in his New York apartment from result of overdose. Australian minister for art Rod Welford said on Brisbane international film festival how Ledger supported local film industry in various ways.

Heath is our big star

Recently, Ledgers last movie “The Dark Knight” experienced premiere in New York. Heath plays Joker in it. Movie was first shown in Broadway and premiere attended Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Lauren Conrad, Karina Smirnoff, Ethan Hawke and many others.

According to mail online it is immoral to use dead man to hype Batman movie. The suits predict the film will take $100 million in its opening weekend and break the $400 million barrier in due course.
