Katrina Hodge, 21 year old British female soldier is the right example that in army doesn’t go only ugly amazons. Lieutenant Hodge is soldier in British army and periodically she is model who won finals for Miss England. Girl, who showed her courage in Iraq in a way that many males in army don’t, went to the army to show her and others that “you don’t need ballocks to be in the army.”
Hodge is in the army as clerk, but in 2005 she demonstrated combat grip and got nickname “Combat Barbie” because of it. As only 18 years old she traveled with her combat group through Iraq Street, when their vehicle was attacked and it spine few times. When she awake, she and her comrades in arms were on aim of Iraqi insurgent, but Combat Barbie was the first to react. She hit insurgent, who was surprised and confused by her reaction, so she managed to take his weapon. For that stroke she received reworded for courage.
“I was in complete shock at first. The force of the accident caused our vehicle to roll over three times and threw us off guard.”
“As I came round, the Iraqi suspect was standing over us with the rifles. I knew if I didn’t act fast then our lives would be in danger. I punched him and the force startled him enough for me to retrieve the rifles from him” said Combat Barbie to the press.
Ms Hodge, a military clerk with The Adjutant General’s Corps, has already won the Miss Tunbridge Wells crown. She said: “I was delighted to have been selected for the Miss England final and it is a great honor.”
