Eva Mendes
The Hitch star has revealed that money was tight when she was growing up so whenever she needed new outfits she wore used clothes from second hand shops.
“I have two sisters and a brother, although I’m the baby by 10 years,” she said.
“Growing up, it was like having two sets of parents; my siblings were so protective, they were on me like hawks. I know all about having hand-me-downs too. Until I was 10 or 11, all I wore were my sister’s old clothes”.
“My mother kept everything and re-dressed me. It didn’t matter that a whole decade had passed and I was totally out of style,” she added.
Eva also said that she’s glad she didn’t come from a rich family as it has made her appreciate the money she has now.
She told Cosmopolitan magazine: “I wouldn’t change my upbringing. It’s given me great values towards money and has made me really appreciate everything I have. I’m not a spender or a shopper. I don’t find pleasure in being frivolous with money.”
