It has emerged that American actress Jennifer Love Hewitt was warned about her year-long engagement to Scottish actor Ross McCall.

Psychic James Van Praagh, an executive producer of Hewitt’s show, “Ghost Whisperer”, had apparently told her that the relationship was doomed even before she and McCall, 32, split in January.

“I warned her Ross was not ready to marry her . . . He was afraid of wedded life,” the New York Post quoted Praagh as saying.

The singer, who plays a social worker in the upcoming movie, was refused special treatment by director Lee Daniels.

“Mariah had to share a trailer on set and was only allowed one bodyguard, not her usual entourage,” People quoted him as saying.

“It was hard for her to be deglamourized but I also think it was a growing experience for her,” he added.
